OPENING LEADS AGAINST NOTRUMP CONTRACT
UTSPEL I SANGKONTRAKT
Goals:
- try to establish winners in long suits.
- signals to tell your partner more about your hand. That is, to help your partner to visualize your hand.
"Aggressiv lead" - Offensivt utspel
1. Lead from your 1. longest and 2. strongest suit. In case of equal length chose strongest.
2. If your partner has bid, select your partners suit.
With one exception: if you had a long and powerful suit of your own.
OBS! Lead-directing double from your partner!

3. Consider the bidding. Do not lead from a suit that op. has bid.
4. Lead from head of sequense (at least 3 cards)
5. Lead the second highest card from an interior sequence (mellansekvens), that is A, K, D - gap - sequense of 2 or more cards headed by an honor (D, Kn, 10).
6. In general, lead the 4th highest card.
In 3-card holdings lead the lowest card. Exceptions: No honor or a 2-card sequence - lead the highest card (jfr "Toppen av ingenting").
"Passive lead" - Defensivt utspel
Against 6 or 7 NT.
A passive lead will not allow the declarer to win a trick that he could not have won if he had been left to his own devices.
In Swedish: undvik att ge spelföraren någon fördel med utspelet. Spela ut ett neutralt kort, t ex högsta från en sekvens utan honnörer.
Wohlin: Ett utspel från tre hackor skänker sällan bort något spel.
